Do you accept my insurance?

1. First, please contact your insurance carrier and ask if they cover mental health services.

If your insurance is one can be found below, you will need to send us a copy of your insurance card for us to verify.

**Your insurance must be the primary payer. Contact your insurance directly to clarify this information.

How long do I need to take the medication?

To prevent recurrence of symptoms, multiple research evidence suggests: 


If you have been experiencing moderate to severe symptoms for > 12 months, 

You may need to be on the medication for 18-24 months to experience remission of symptoms. Once you start responding to the medication(s), then it is possible to slowly taper the medications to a lower dose and then discontinue. 


If you have been experiencing mild to moderate symptoms for < 12 months, 

You may need to be on the medication for 12 months to prevent any recurrence of symptoms. 


However, every individual is different and it depends on the severity of your symptoms and how you respond on the medication. We have to consider any underlying medical issues, other medications you are currently taking (even herbs) etc. 


Healthy lifestyle is also critical in your recovery process. Rest assured your provider will work with you and create an individualized plan based on your comfort level.

What if I am experiencing intolerable side efects?

What if I am not sure if I want to take medications but just want to have an assessment?

The initial session entails a comprehensive assessment which includes completing an intake questionnaire and a 60-minute clinical interview.


It is important that you provide as much clinical history as possible (medical, mental health and family history) in order to create a solid treatment plan.


The treatment plan may or may not include a recommendation for prescription medication, psychotherapy and other holistic approaches to help you improve daily functioning.


Respect and consent is essential in any therapeutic relationship.

Do you prescribe controlled substances?

For patient safety reasons, we do not prescribe controlled substances in this platform.

No prescription of stimulants, no opioids and no benzodiazepines.

Do I have to pay to get my medications renewed?

Yes.

If I am taking medications, do I need to also be in therapy?

Research evidence suggests that combination treatment is the most ideal way of addressing mental health concerns. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Activation Therapy, Solution Focused therapy are all very effective in assisting clients improve their quality of life.


Access Psych Meds will refer you to a highly skilled clinician for specific Trauma-focused therapies:

  • ACT - Acceptance Commitment Therapy
  • EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing
  • CPT - Cognitive Processing Therapy
  • PE - Prolonged Exposure

The provider is dual board-certified and trained to also conduct brief psychotherapy sessions (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavior Activation Therapy and Solution Focused-Therapy) during your follow-up visits.

How do I get prescriptions?

1. Please provide your local pharmacy information (address and telephone number).

2. The provider will order the prescription medication on the same day.

3. Before picking up your medication, please call the pharmacy 2 hours after your session, to ensure your local pharmacy processed the provider's order.

4. In order NOT to pay out of pocket for the prescription medication(s), please bring your insurance card to make sure your medications are covered.

5. If you have to pay out of pocket, you may also use GoodRx coupons.
